When I say the word, “religion”… what comes to mind?
For some, religion has been a wonderful gift, a place of solace, and deep connection.
For many more, religion has been abusive, guilt-ridden, fear-based, and un-accepting.
As I have gone through my own “night of the soul,” I am reminded how important it is to have a group of people who are holding space for you as you walk through the very real and traumatic things that have happened to you at the hands of your religion.
If you believe a group like this would aid in your “coming home,” “leaving to never return,” or “reconstruction” in any way, I invite you to join us starting January 20, 2020.
Criteria to join the group:
18 years of age or older
Be committed to processing your experience (there is no pressure to “arrive” anywhere by the end of the group)
Be open and non-judgmental toward other individuals from other walks of faith (while the facilitator comes from a Christian background, there is no need to identify as such)
Other important information you should know:
The group will run twice a month (1st and third Mondays) beginning January 20 until May 25, 2020 on Monday nights from 7-8 pm. The group will be held online using Vsee (a HIPAA compliant platform).
The cost for the group (for all 10 sessions) is 200.00 or you can pay 30.00 each meeting (if you pay up front and in full, a session is 20.00).
This will be an open group, in that, people can join at the beginning or in the middle. It will become a closed group (no new members will be able to join) after the 5th session.
