Meghan Barnes

Counselor Trainee, under Michael Desposito’s Supervision

Meghan creates a warm, affirming, and nonjudgmental space for high-functioning women and LGBTQ+ clients navigating ADHD overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, and self-doubt. She specializes in clients who tend to over-function, carry too much responsibility, and struggle to turn off racing thoughts or emotional overload. Sessions are collaborative and focused on slowing thought spirals, identifying patterns that keep you stuck in stress and burnout cycles, and building practical tools for emotional regulation, boundaries, and nervous system steadiness. She integrates DBT-informed strategies to help reduce rumination, manage overwhelm, and respond to life with more clarity and control.

Meghan is a Counselor Trainee at The Wellife and a master’s student at Capella University. Before entering the counseling field, she spent 15 years as a master’s-level educator, strengthening her ability to quickly recognize patterns, simplify complex emotional experiences, and help students turn insight into practical change. She believes genuine connection is the foundation for growth; through authentic therapeutic relationships, clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward.
